JOB CATEGORY: Educational Services Support Staff/Behaviour Management Support REPORTS TO: Program Director BASIC FUNCTIONS: To assist the classroom teacher by: providing direct instruction to students, assisting in classroom organization, implementing behaviour management plans; assisting in physical intervention when necessary, assisting student in community settings, assisting teacher in collecting progress documentation and performance data. Training and support to staff in approved physical restraint procedures. Location: The placements are all located on the East Coast; Predominately in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. You qualify for this program, if you: - are a graduate with a bachelor/diploma in a social services related field of study. - are interested in professional development in the United States - are able to understand academic training and professional identity well enough to communicate professional concepts with American colleagues - have an International Driver's License Pocket Money to bring to the US: $3,300; In order to reach the placement site and to be mobile during your job, you will get assistance in purchasing a car ( estimated $3,000 for buying a used car). After the program, assistance will be provided for resale. |
